One table, two continents, and every dish worth burning your fingers for.
The Continental Table is a recipe journal devoted to the food of the Americas — from Canadian chowder shacks to Argentine asado pits, Mexican street corners to Brazilian bakery windows. We believe the best cooking on earth happens between the Arctic and Patagonia, and we’re working our way through it one authentic recipe at a time.
What We Do
Every recipe here follows the same rules: authentic first — we cook the dish the way its home country does, not the food-court version; tested and explained — each recipe covers the history, the technique, and the why, not just the steps; and honest — if a dish needs a hard-to-find ingredient, we say so and offer the closest real substitute, never a shortcut that ruins it.
How to Use This Site
Browse all recipes, dive into a craving on the homepage categories, or use the search (the little magnifier up top) when you know what you’re hungry for. Every recipe has a Jump to Recipe button, a printable PDF card, and a comment section — create a free account to join the conversation.
